Initially one person was affected by the electric shock, then the others who came to save him were electrocuted.The incident occurred when some persons were passing an iron pipe to others standing on the roof of a house. The pipe came in touch with a high tension power wire and the impact was immediate. The man who was holding the pipe bore the brunt of the shock and was struggling, while some others who came to extricate him also died of electric shock. The AP government sanctioned ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the persons who died in the ghastly mishap.
