The following are five must-see destinations that any travelling enthusiast must visit and count themselves part of the festivities.You may have already been to Paris, but why not go again? This year, it is the 250th anniversary of the world’s first restaurant, which was opened by Monsieur Boulanger near the Louvre, serving as a reminder that France still makes the best food. There is also the brand-new Louis Vuitton Foundation that’s hosting contemporary art exhibitions.Czech city Pilsen may not be as iconic a location as Paris, but it’s been named this year’s European Capital of Culture, and thus, a rich calendar of cultural activities is being expected. The city’s medieval buildings are being transformed into canvases for cutting-edge audiovisual projections

This is also the year when the bells of the gothic St.Bartholomew’s Cathedral will be heard for the first time since World War II, and that’s a treat your ears would not want to miss out on.It’s also time you heard of the Azerbaijani capital Baku, as it is hosting the very first European Games, which is something like the European Olympics, with several sports competitions attracting over 6,000 athletes to the city. These Games are set to start in the second week of June, and other attractions in Baku include the fascinating Old Town, which is also on the World Heritage list.Expo 2015, with the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” is the World Fair being hosted by the city of Milan in Italy.

Expo 2015 takes place in the city between May 5th and 31-09-, and that’s a great excuse to see the recently cleaned-up Duomo and also shop at the world’s most lavish shopping destinations: the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.In Dubai, however, a new year means new skyscrapers and attractions, and 2015 is going to be the year of the Palazzo Versace Dubai: a palatial hotel by the Dubai Creek. As palatial as it is, another sight to feast your eyes upon would be the city’s rather recent attraction- the Miracle Garden, which is the world’s largest flower garden.So pack your bags, get those tickets and as the Dalai Lama said “once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.” 2015 is definitely one year you’d not want to stay at home.
