Hyderabad : Colourful festivities began across Telangana on the state's first anniversary  today. The Telangana government illuminated government offices and lined up celebrations in Hyderabad and the remaining nine districts of the state on the occasion. Chief Minister K Chandrasekar Rao unfurled the national flag and inspected a guard of honour from police and distributed awards to distinguished personalities. Speaking on the occasion, KCR highlighted the achievements of TS government during the last 1 year. Soon wouldbe power surplus in Telangna, he said.

Telangana CM KCR announced that TS govt. going to fill 25 thousand vacancies  in various  departments, notification would be issued in July. All the contract employees in the state would be regularised, KCR said. Noting that the construction of double bed room homes for weaker sections , and election promise of TRS, could not be taken up last year, due to various programmes.  CM  said 50K houses would be built with cost of Rs two thousand five hundred crore with each house costing more than Rs 5 lacks  during this year. The state government is implementing a number of welfare schemes like social security pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarak for the benefit of deprived sections, he said.
