After External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, now Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s name has been dragged in for allegedly helping former IPL chief Lalit Modi. Documents of a PR firm engaged by Lalit Modi's lawyer Mehmood Abdi purportedly indicate that Vasudhara had secretly supported Modi’s UK immigration application on the condition that her support should not be made known to the Indian authorities.
Even as BJP is putting up a strong defence for Swaraj, emergence of Vasundhara’s name in the controversy has created another hurdle for the party. Meanwhile, in a press conference in Mumbai on Monday Modi's lawyer said that Congress leaders and former union ministers Shashi Tharoor, P Chidambaram and Salman Khurshid had tried to hinder his client's chances of staying in United Kingdom by unduly interfering in legal process.
