Former Delhi Metro Rail Corporation MD E Sreedharan on Sunday submitted a detailed project report (DPR) for taking up Metro Rail project in Vijayawada covering two corridors at an estimated cost of Rs 5,705 crore. Sreedharan, who was earlier appointed principal advisor to Andhra Pradesh Government on Metro Rail projects, would be submitting the DPR pertaining to Visakhapatnam by June. Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu was also present at the residence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu when Sreedharan handed over the report.
