Hyderabad:
All is not so well with the NIMS. More so with the PG super specialty
courses offered by it. Fate of the existing PG seats hangs in balance.
The executive board of the Institute is failing to impress upon the MCI
with regard to recognition to the exiting PG seats as well as on its
plea for enhancement of seats. Though the NIMS had submitted compliance
report in respect of the five super specialty PG seats, the MCI didn’t
respond so far and it did not even bother to acknowledge.
The Executive Board meeting of NIMS held on Monday with the Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy in chair, reportedly didn’t find a way out to end the impasse over the issue. It reportedly didn’t come up with any solid proposals to address the tough measures initiated by the Medical Council of India (MCI), with particular reference to the enhancement of PG super specialty seats.
